Man United’s stance on Ole Gunnar Solskjaer revealed following Leicester game

Manchester United board of directors will continue to give under-fire boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer full support despite the Red Devils’ topsy-turvy start to the season.

According to The Athletic journalist David Ornstein, Manchester United powerbrokers will stick to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer amid the Old Trafford outfit’s rough patch.

The Red Devils headed into the international break winless in two consecutive Premier League fixtures, falling two points adrift of pacesetters Chelsea in the process.

However, they were confident of returning to winning ways on Saturday. Man United traveled to the King Power Stadium to take on Leicester City earlier today, relying on a remarkable 29-match unbeaten league streak away from home.

Though Brendan Rodgers’ side experienced a torrid start to the season, they managed to outplay the Red Devils earlier today, claiming a comprehensive 4-2 triumph.

Mason Greenwood fired the visitors in front with a screamer 19 minutes into the game, but Harry Maguire’s blunder gifted Youri Tielemans a stunning equalizer.

Leicester turned the tables on United in the 78th minute as Caglar Soyuncu latched onto a rebound into the eight-yard box to give the hosts a well-deserved lead.

Man United replied within seconds, as second-half substitute Marcus Rashford escaped offside to break one-on-one with Kasper Schmeichel and get off the mark on his seasonal debut.

Yet, the visitors’ celebrations were short-lived. Jamie Vardy’s devastating first-time effort from just inside the box brought Leicester back in front and eventually decided the encounter.

With Chelsea running out victorious against newly-promoted Brentford, the Red Devils now sit two points below the top place and face an uphill task of returning in the title contention early in the season.

But the Old Trafford hierarchy has no intention of sacking Solskjaer despite their massive financial efforts in the summer failing to pay dividends in the early exchanges.
