Roma vs Feyenoord: Europa Conference League Final Preview & Potential Line-ups

Air Albania Stadium in Tirana is the venue as Roma and Feyenoord go head-to-head in the grand final of the maiden Europa Conference League season.

Both sides launched their paths to the Albanian showpiece under new bosses in the qualifying play-off round before topping their respective groups and moving past three knock-out rounds.

After finishing top of Group C, Roma have left the likes of Vitesse, Bodo/Glimt and Leicester City in their wake en route to reaching their third major European finals.

Led by charismatic manager Jose Mourinho, the Giallorossi are looking to land the first piece of European silverware, having lost both previous continental finals.

On the other hand, Feyenoord will appear in their first major European final since defeating Borussia Dortmund 3-2 in the UEFA Cup showpiece in 2001/02.

It has been an utterly impressive Europa Conference League journey for the Dutch outfit thus far, as they've reached the grand final without losing a single match from the group stage onwards (W9, D3).

Match Preview

Roma

Roma's 2-1 aggregate triumph over Vitesse in the Europa Conference League round of 16 has maintaned their 100% win rate against Dutch clubs in the knock-out ties (W4).

Furthermore, their all-time record against sides from the Eredivisie in UEFA competition reads encouragingly (W4, D4, L2), which includes two unbeaten meetings with Feyenoord (W1, D1) in the 2014/15 Europa League last-32.

Adding to Roma's confidence, they've found the net in their last 14 European fixtures outside the Stadio Olimpico, last failing to score away from Italy's capital in a 2-0 loss to Sevilla in the 2019/20 Europa League last-16.

Feyenoord

Feyenoord have enjoyed a stellar springtime European campaign, winning all but one of their six Europa Conference League knock-out legs (D1).

Before holding Marseille to a 'nil-nil' draw in the return leg of their semi-final tie, Arne Slot's lads had netted 3+ goals in their five previous Europa Conference League knock-out fixtures.

However, Feyenoord's overall record against Italian opponents reads indifferently (W5, D4, L5), though they can draw confidence from winning two out of three knock-out ties versus clubs from Serie A (L1).

Roma vs Feyenoord Potential Line-ups

Roma (3-5-2): Rui Patricio; Gianluca Mancini, Chriss Smalling, Roger Ibanez; Rick Karsdorp, Bryan Cristante, Sergio Oliveira, Lorenzo Pellegrini, Nicola Zalewski; Nicolo Zaniolo, Tammy Abraham.

Feyenoord (4-3-3): Ofir Marciano; Lutsharel Geertruida, Gernot Trauner, Senesi, Tyrell Malacia; Guus Til, Fredrik Aursnes, Orkun Kokcu; Reiss Nelson, Cyriel Dessers, Luis Sinisterra.
