De Bruyne urges his Man City teammates to keep their feet on the ground

Kevin De Bruyne has issued a warning to his Manchester City teammates following an all-important 2-1 away win over Paris Saint-Germain on Wednesday.

Manchester City’s bid to lift their first-ever Champions League title received a massive boost last night, as they came from behind to beat PSG in the first leg of their semi-final tie.

Although Marquinhos powered home a header following Angel Di Maria’s delightful cross to put the French side in front, the visitors performed a stunning second-half turnaround.

Kevin De Bruyne put things back to square one after the hour mark before Riyad Mahrez completed the comeback with a pinpoint free-kick to give City a massive lead heading into the return leg.

Now in complete control of the tie, Pep Guardiola’s men are masters of their destiny as they prepare to welcome Mauricio Pochettino’s team to the Etihad next week.

The very man, who sparked City’s revival at the Parc des Princes, insists there is no room for complacency at City if they want to secure their first appearance in the Champions League final.

Quizzed on City’s growing chances to reach the final, De Bruyne replied (via Daily Mirror): “Yes, but it doesn’t matter.

“We have to do our job and play the game next week. I know we had a good result today, but they are still going to be a hard game.

“They have a lot of quality and we have to focus ourselves on Saturday, as we play Crystal Palace very early, so we have to do that and then get ourselves ready for the next game.

“I don’t care who are the favorites to go through. I’m there to perform my game. I’m looking ahead to Crystal Palace on Saturday. Then we’re going to rest up to be ready for next week.”
